Former President Donald Trump reached out to supporters of former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, urging them to join “the monumental movement shaping our nation’s destiny,” while stressing that President Biden “stands as the ultimate adversary.”
Haley’s decision to suspend her campaign on Wednesday morning came after Trump swept nearly all Super Tuesday primary contests.
“Nikki Haley faced a resounding defeat last night, setting a record, despite the peculiar circumstance of Democrats, for reasons unbeknownst, being permitted to vote in Vermont and various other Republican Primaries,” Trump declared on his Truth Social platform. “A significant portion of her financial backing and voter base hailed from the Radical Left Democrats, nearly 50% according to the polls.”
Trump had previously expressed a desire for Haley to persist in the race, stating, “at this juncture, I hope she remains in the ‘race’ and battles it out until the end!”
“I extend my gratitude to my family, friends, and the esteemed Republican Party for contributing to what stands as the most triumphant Super Tuesday in history,” Trump asserted. “Furthermore, I extend an earnest invitation to all supporters of Nikki Haley to join the great movement restoring our nation’s greatness.”
“Biden stands as the adversary, his actions wreaking havoc upon our country,” he reiterated. “Make America Great Again!”
Upon suspending her campaign, Haley refrained from endorsing Trump, emphasizing that it is “now incumbent upon Donald Trump to garner the support of those within our party and beyond who did not rally behind him. I hope he rises to the occasion.”
“Politics, at its zenith, is about rallying individuals to your cause, not alienating them,” Haley remarked. “Our conservative cause urgently requires broader support. The time for decision-making is upon us.”
Following Haley’s announcement, the Republican National Committee (RNC) lauded Trump’s victory.
“Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump on his monumental primary triumph! Additionally, I commend Nikki Haley for running a spirited campaign and securing the distinction of being the first woman to triumph in a Republican presidential primary,” applauded RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “President Trump previously delivered unparalleled economic prosperity, fortified borders, energy independence, and bolstered America’s global stature—antithetical to the tumult incited by Joe Biden.”
McDaniel affirmed, “Republican voters have unequivocally voiced their support with historic margins, forging a more unified front than ever to vanquish Biden and the Democrats in the upcoming November elections.”
Despite Trump’s outreach to Haley supporters, President Biden disclaimed any real interest in securing their allegiance, instead extending an invitation to his campaign.
“Donald Trump has unequivocally rejected Nikki Haley’s supporters. Let me be clear: I extend a warm welcome to them in my campaign,” asserted Biden. “While we may not see eye to eye on every issue, on the fundamental principles of safeguarding American democracy, upholding the rule of law, and treating one another with decency, integrity, and respect, as well as upholding NATO and standing firm against America’s adversaries, I am hopeful and confident we can find common ground.”
Biden concluded, “We are well aware that this is no ordinary election. The stakes for America are unprecedented. While Democrats, Republicans, and Independents may hold divergent views and staunch convictions, what unites us all is our love for America.”
